Internship Program

Background

Charleston County Government’s Internship Program is designed to provide college juniors and seniors with opportunities to explore and learn about transportation occupations related to their majors.

Internships are embraced by local government as a way to promote diversity and provide exposure to occupational areas that will expand career awareness and opportunities. Female, minority, unemployed and underemployed students are encouraged to apply for internship opportunities.

Charleston County residents receive first consideration of internship opportunities that are created as a result of contract awards.

Internship benefits:

  • Potential employment upon graduation
  • Salary during internship experience
  • Possible summer employment through graduation
  • Resume enhancement

To apply for an internship position, contact the Charleston County’s Contracts and Procurement Department, Room B250, 2nd floor, Lonnie Hamilton, III Public Services Building (4045 Bridge View Drive; North Charleston, SC 29405).
