Loop Ramp from James Island Connector to Folly Road

 Project Description:

The James Island Connector currently terminates at an at-grade intersection with Folly Road on James Island. This at-grade intersection may be modified by constructing a bridge over Folly Road that would carry a single travel lane over Folly Road and develop into a loop ramp connecting to Folly Road. This would help facilitate the traffic movement between the westbound lanes of the James Island Connector onto southbound Folly Road. The proposed loop ramp would be located on the West Side of Folly Road, and the majority of the work would be conducted within existing right-of-way that has already been acquired by the S.C. Department of Transportation (DOT). The primary purpose of the proposed project is to improve the traffic flow and safety at the intersection of the James Island Connector and Folly Road. This stand alone project can be added onto later by any future construction of the Mark Clark Extension that would connect I-526 to the James Island Connector.
