Palmetto Commerce Parkway
The Ashley Phosphate / Palmetto Parkway Connector (Palmetto Commerce Parkway-Phase II) consists of the widening of the existing Palmetto Parkway from two lanes to four lanes and the extension of the existing Palmetto Commerce Parkway. The existing Palmetto Commerce Parkway begins at Ladson Rd. (S-76) and extends for approximately 1.7 miles to a dead end. The proposed Palmetto Commerce Parkway would continue from this dead end and extend approximately 4 miles to Ashley Phosphate Road (S-75), connecting through Spartan Blvd.
The primary purpose of this project is to provide a north-south connector linking Ladson Rd. and Ashley Phosphate Rd. This connector would improve the road network in this area of N. Charleston and accommodate inner regional travel. The extension of Palmetto Commerce Parkway would relieve parallel arterial such as Dorchester Rd. and I-26 and provide a better distribution of traffic in the area
The Public Meeting for Palmetto Commerce Parkway was held October 10, 2006. Alternatives presented at this meeting can be viewed by clicking on the links below:
